Things College Teaches You
A lot of people will tell you, that school was school, but it’s college that really prepares you for real life. It’s hard to believe because college is supposed to be about higher education, right? So how is it that college prepares us. The reason is the most important lessons you’ll learn in the college are the ones you grasp out of the lecture hall.
1. Experimentation: There are few phases in life that allow you to experiment more than college does. There are a lot opportunities available in college life, and believe me, you’ll be stupid if you’re not taking them. Some of your best talents are recognized when you experiment.
2. Setting a Balance: College means multitasking and doing multiple things at once, so it’s only natural that you will learn and master the art of balancing multiple aspects of your life.
3. Becoming Responsible: Your family will not be there to give you the answer, and your mother will not behind you back making sure that you have your meals and do your laundry if you’re not staying at home. So you will automatically become more responsible than you thought you were capable of.
4. Managing Your Money: When you’re living on limited resources, and you can’t sneak food from the kitchen or ask mom to buy your clothes, you will be running low on cash. And it is college life that helps you decide where to spend and where not to.
