BUEST’S ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY TOWARDS RAGGING

BUEST adopts a zero tolerance policy towards ragging, since we recognize the importance of providing a safe and congenial environment for all our students to flourish into professionals of tomorrow. Anyone found guilty of ragging and abetting ragging whether actively or passively, or being a part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with the regulations in practice as well as under the provisions of nay penal law for the time being in force. The punishment varies from “expulsion from university and no admission for three years in other institute” to “imprisonment up to three years of Rs. 50,000/- fine or both”.

In view of the directions of Hon’ble supreme Court in the matter of “University of Kerala v/s Council, Principals, colleges and others” in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16.05.2007 and that dated 08.05.2009 in Civil Appeal No. 887 0f 2009, provisions of the Prohibition of Ragging Act, 2009, the Raghavan Committee Recommendations and the UGC Regulations on curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, the Anti Ragging committee, for the Academic Session can be viewed at our University website: www.baddiuniv.ac.in
