National Science Day Celebration

National Science Day was celebrated by the School of Sciences in Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology on 28th February, 2024.The focal theme of National Science Day 2024 was “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat”. The theme reflects a strategic focus on promoting public appreciation for Science, Technology and Innovation and accomplishments of Indian scientists to address challenges through home-grown technologies for over-all well-being. The Chief Guest for the Event was Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) J. K. Sharma. Hon’ble Secertary CASE governing Body Sh. Gaurav Ram Jhunjhunwala and revered Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Khushmeet Kumar were invited as Guests of Honour for the event. Event was commenced with the welcome address by Event Organizer, Associate Dean-School of Sciences Dr. Nidhi Gupta.
An Expert talk was organized on this occasion. The Keynote speaker was Mr. Jawaid Imam, Vice President, Aristo Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Baddi who apprised the students about the discovery of Raman Effect by Sir CV Raman and highlighted on the various initiatives taken by the Indian government to materialize the vision of VIKSIT Bharat. Moreover, he opined that the development of indigenous technologies will provide an opportunity for public and scientific fraternity, both domestically and internationally, to collaborate and contribute to the well-being of India and humanity as a whole. In addition, he emphasized the importance of making India Atmanirbhar through science. Chief Guest- Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) J. K. Sharma also interacted with the students and emphasized the importance of homegrown innovations and scientific progress in India.
Emeritus Professor- Dr. Tej Vir Singh, Principal Nursing- Prof. Usha Mehta, Vice Principal Nursing- Ms. Amita and Student’s Welfare Officer- Ms. Sushma Singh graced the occasion with their presence.
Science Exhibition included working/Non- Working Models, posters and flex presented the scientific temperament of the students focusing on Green House, Solar System, Robotics, Spectroscopy, Bio-diversity, Organic Farming etc. It was well appreciated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries who also took a round of the exhibition area and interacted with the participants in an inquisitive manner and encouraged them to participate in such events in future.
Google Geeks and Group Discussion were also organized to encourage the students to “think outside the box” and to confidently present their diverse perspectives. Group Discussion consisted of 3 rounds in which separate topics- “Substance Abuse: Impact on behavior and Society”, “Clean India Green India” and “Artificial Intelligence vs. Human Intelligence” were discussed by students in an intelligent manner. The contribution and whole hearted efforts of Event Organizer, Associate Dean-School of Sciences, Dr. Nidhi Gupta, Event Coordinators- Dr. Arush Sharma, Ms. Kumari Anupam and Ms. Vaishali Gautam along with faculty members were also recognized and appreciated by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) J. K. Sharma.
The celebration of Science day envisages interaction between students, teachers and subject experts, contributing to the awakening of the scientific spirit among students.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Event Coordinator Dr. Arush Sharma.
