On 23-01-2018 Approx. 50 students of School of Management Studies of Baddi University participated in swachhta abhiyan in association with Municipal Corporation Panchkula. Mr Rajeev Kumar, Asstt prof from management department was faculty coordinator for organizing this swachhta abhiyan. This mission was concerned with cleaning the gardens of Panchkula city by initiating all the students to go to the areas themselves and clean the garbage within their range. A garden named as Nirjhara Garden, was chosen by the students and all the students were divided in small groups so that they can cover more ground. In the morning, students started the cleaning of the garden and for continuing working for 3 hours they cleaned the garden. After the cleaning was done, the plastic garbage bags were taken on one place so that they can be disposed off carefully. All the students gave their best at collecting the garbage and cleaning the garden. Shri O.P. Sihag, who was the Executive Officer of Municipal Corporation, Panchkula appreciated Baddi University for their support to Municipal Corporation Panchkula in swachhta mission. He thanked all the students that came to help the city as well as the faculty coordinator and also appreciated Mr. Munish Pundir,Founder of Aashman foundation  who was responsible for taking such kind initiative. There were many parties responsible for the initiative such as Aashman Foundation, Baddi University, Specky on screen, The Hind Radio.

The whole experience was astonishing for many students because they found out the importance of cleanliness. All of the students were also made the part of video recording of all the process and the whole event. At last, Mr. Rajeev, Assistant Professor, presented a memento to the chief guest as a token of appreciation on behalf of Baddi University. Students were also appreciated for their work and all were given certificates for their participation in the event.

At all, it was a good opportunity for the students to be more morally responsible towards the society. All the cleanliness will help the city to become a smart city, which will in turn make our country a smart country. It will be a country which was seen as an ideal country by our founding forefathers such as Mahatma Gandhi. This can be termed as a small initiative compared to some very big initiatives all around the country and the commitment of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi himself. But all in all, such small initiatives will ultimately help the overall development of the country as a whole.
