Internships. It seems they are all we talk about. But they are absolutely important. So, now that you have decided to intern and have chosen the right internship for yourself, how do you prepare yourself for your first day? Here are a few things to do.
• Do your homework. Research on the company or office you’re going to intern at. If you’re familiar with the hierarchy and aims, your life will be so much easier. Added benefits, if you turn up prepared and already familiar, your superiors will definitely be impressed!
• Figure out the route and commute in advance. Believe you me, you do not want to be late on your first day.
• It’s best if you’re familiar with the Microsoft Office Suit, knowing how to make a basic power point presentation, or to type out an elaborate document or any other thing will be great in case they ask you to.
• Go through the newspaper, especially for the news that is relevant to the things your office/company deals with and other global news. Being aware of what’s going on in the world is important for everyone.
• Etiquette is important in life, yes. But it is of utmost important at a work place. Don’t chew gum, or unasked snack breaks, or any other thing that may seem impolite. Be careful of your actions.
