
International Women’s Day Celebration
International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated globally on March 8th each year. The International Women’s Day was celebrated in BUEST Nursing College on March 10th, 2025, with the theme for this year was “Accelerate Action.”
The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. (Dr.) T. R. Bhardwaj, Advisor to the Chancellor, BUEST, and Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Khushmeet Kumar, was the Guest of Honor. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Tej Vir Singh (Professor Emeritus), Dr. V. K. Kapoor (Professor Emeritus), Dr. Sushma Sharma (Research Associate, Pharmacy), Dr. Nidhi Gupta (Associate Dean, SOS), Dr. Geena (Controller of Examination), Dr. Sushma Singh (Student Welfare Officer), Guest Speaker Mr. Mandeep Singh Maunder, Director: Business Process with corporate ladders learning solutions and all the HODs of various departments also graced the occasion with their presence.
The program started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) T. R. Bhardwaj, and Prof. (Dr.) Khushmeet Kumar, accompanied by other dignitaries that was followed by Saraswati Vandana. The Welcome Speech was delivered by Prof. Usha Mehta, Principal of BUEST Nursing College, who welcomed all the guests and emphasized the significance of International Women’s Day. She encouraged everyone to continue striving for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The event continued with an expert talk by Mr. Mandeep Singh Maunder, followed by an Investor Awareness Program aimed at educating participants on the importance of financial literacy and investing, especially for women. B.Sc. Nursing students played a pivotal role in the celebration by performing a role play and cultural activities highlighting the significance of women in society.
The program ended with Vote of Thanks by Ms. Sona Sharma, Associate Professor, BUEST Nursing College, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, all dignitaries, faculty members and participants for making the event a success.
