International Women’s Day 2021

International Women’s Day was celebrated by Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technologies, Baddi on 8th March, 2021. This year, the theme for International Women’s Day 2021 was “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” The theme celebrates the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps that remain.
The Chief Guest for the event was Prof. Usha Mehta, Vice Principal, BUEST Nursing College. She apprised the students about women’s contribution in fighting against COVID-19. Her talk was emphasized on women’s right to decision-making in all areas of life, equal pay, equal sharing of unpaid care and domestic work and taking steps to end all forms of violence against women and girls, and health-care services that respond to their needs. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) J.K. Sharma and Advisor to Chancellor, Baddi University (Dr.) T.R. Bhardwaj also shared their views on Women empowerment. A number of students from various schools of BUEST presented speech focusing the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women on this occasion.
