Future of Management Education – Baddi University
Management Education in India is undergoing a rapid change. The two current developments namely globalization and liberalization have an impact on Management Education. Indian management education is struggling to keep is pace with the present global scenario. We can teach everything that improves the practice of management with people who are managers but we cannot teach management to a person who is not a manager. These days, the main focus of Management Educations on theory and not on practical education is on theory and not on practical education which is of most importance. The students don’t have industrial expose and they find it difficult to digest management education in the classroom. When we consider management education in India. It is not student concern but it is only faculty-centric. It is not designed as per the interest of students. Therefore there is a huge gap between industry and education.
To bring a change in the Management Education of India, it is essential to impart practical education to students. Students should be encouraged to interact with the industry regularly. The faculty should be qualified in industry teaching, training, research and consultancy. For improvement of management education, it is essential to keep two educators in a classroom, one should be from industry and other’s should be from teaching. This will keep a balance of theory as well as practical among students. Only those courses should be introduced which will be later recognized in Future. If the Indian management education has to make a place in society. It has to work hand in hand with the global business environment. These days there are lots of students graduating from business schools but they don’t get jobs in big companies. To conclude, the industry must come forward to support management education. Support should come from all stakeholders including industry, education, students, government and leaders to streamline Indian management education.
